Step by step

How to transfer files online, with nothing installed

  1. 01

    Open the page

Go to justsaveit.online on the device that has the file.

  2. 02

    Add the file

Drag it in, tap Browse files, or paste text into Add text.

  3. 03

    Create the drop

Press Create drop and keep the page open until the upload finishes.

  4. 04

    Open it anywhere

On the other device, type the code, open the link or scan the QR code.

No Android app, no iPhone app, no desktop software

The same page does the whole job on every platform:

  • Android: Chrome, Samsung Internet, Firefox or any other browser.
  • iPhone and iPad: Safari, Chrome or any other browser.
  • Windows: Edge, Chrome or Firefox.
  • Mac: Safari, Chrome or Firefox.
  • Chromebook and Linux: whatever browser you already use.

Why skipping the install matters

An app has to be on both devices before the first file moves, and it asks for storage, permissions and updates from then on. On a work laptop or a borrowed phone, you often cannot install anything at all. For a transfer you will do once, the install is most of the effort.

What a browser cannot do

Honestly stated, so you can choose:

  • It needs an internet connection on both ends, because the file goes through the server.
  • It has a size ceiling — 25 MB per file — where apps that send directly between devices have none.
  • It is not background sync. Keep the page open until the upload finishes; locking a phone mid-upload may pause it.

Apps such as LocalSend or Quick Share send directly across a local network and have no size cap, which is ideal once they are installed on both devices. The browser wins every time they are not.

FAQ

Transfer without an app — common questions

Can I transfer files between a phone and a computer without an app?

Yes. Open Just Save It in the phone’s browser, create a drop, and open it in the computer’s browser with the short code. It works the other way too, by scanning the QR code with the phone.

Which browsers does it work in?

Any current browser: Chrome, Safari, Edge, Firefox, Samsung Internet and others, on phones, tablets and computers.

Is an online file transfer safe?

Transfers run over HTTPS, passwords are stored only as salted scrypt hashes, and expired drops are deleted. Content is not end-to-end encrypted, though, so the server can read it — use it for convenience rather than for secrets.
