Transfer files from iPhone to a Windows PC — no iTunes, no app

AirDrop does not reach Windows. This page does: open it in Safari on the iPhone, pick photos or files, then enter the code on any Windows PC to download them.

Choose a file or drag & drop it here.

Step by step

How to transfer files from iPhone to PC

  1. 01

Open Just Save It in Safari

Or Chrome, or any other browser on the iPhone — go to justsaveit.online. There is no App Store download.

  2. 02

    Choose photos or files

Tap Browse files. iOS offers Photo Library, Take Photo or Video, and Choose File — the last one reaches anything in the Files app, iCloud Drive included.

  3. 03

    Create the drop

Press Create drop. You get a short code and a link: copy the link, or just keep the code on screen.

  4. 04

    Download on the PC

On the Windows PC, go to justsaveit.online, type the code under “Have a code already?”, and download.

Why iPhone to Windows is awkward

Apple’s own routes to a PC all ask for something first: the Apple Devices app or iTunes plus a cable; iCloud for Windows with your Apple ID signed in on the PC; or a detour through email. AirDrop, the one that just works, only works between Apple devices.

A web page sidesteps the question, because Safari on the iPhone and Edge on the PC both speak the web. The PC can be a work machine, a library computer or a friend’s laptop — nothing is signed in and nothing is left behind on it.

HEIC photos and Windows

iPhones save photos as HEIC by default. When you pick from the photo library, iOS may convert them to JPEG as it hands them to the browser; files picked through Choose File keep their original format.

If Windows will not open a .heic file, install Microsoft’s HEIF Image Extensions from the Microsoft Store — or, on the iPhone, set Settings → Camera → Formats → Most Compatible so new photos are saved as JPEG in the first place.

What will and will not fit

  • Photos: a few megabytes each, so a batch of them fits — up to 25 files and 100 MB per drop.
  • Documents and PDFs from the Files app, iCloud Drive included, up to 25 MB each.
  • Screenshots: tiny, and the most common thing people move this way.
  • Video: iPhone video is large — tens of megabytes a minute even at 1080p, far more in 4K — so only short clips fit under 25 MB. For long videos, use a cable or a service built for large files.

FAQ

iPhone to PC — common questions

How do I transfer files from iPhone to PC without iTunes?

Open Just Save It in Safari on the iPhone, tap Browse files, pick the photos or files and press Create drop. On the PC, open the same site, type the short code and download. iTunes, iCloud and cables are not involved at any point.

Can I transfer files from iPhone to Windows wirelessly?

Yes, in the useful sense: no cable, and the two devices never need to be paired or on the same network. The iPhone uploads over wifi or mobile data, and the PC downloads over whatever connection it has.

Do I need iCloud or an Apple ID on the PC?

No. Nothing about the transfer touches iCloud, and the PC is never signed in to anything.

Does it work from an iPad?

Yes — the same steps in Safari on an iPad, and the same page on the receiving computer.

Are the photos compressed?

Just Save It stores and serves exactly the bytes it receives. The one conversion that can happen is on the iPhone itself, where iOS may hand the browser a JPEG instead of a HEIC when you pick from the photo library.
