Transfer files from your PC to your phone with a QR code
Going this way is even quicker. Create a drop on the computer, point the phone’s camera at the QR code on screen, and the files open on the phone — no typing, no cable, no app.

Step by step
How to transfer files from PC to phone
- 01
Add the files on the computer
Drag them onto this page, or click Browse files. Windows, Mac, Chromebook or Linux — any browser works.
- 02
Create the drop
Press Create drop. The page shows the drop’s code, its link and a QR code.
- 03
Scan the QR with the phone
Point the phone’s camera at the screen. The iPhone Camera app reads QR codes on its own; on Android, the camera app or Google Lens does the same.
- 04
Download on the phone
Tap the link that appears, then download. The files arrive at their original size and quality.
Why a QR code is the fastest route from computer to phone
The slow part of getting a file onto a phone is usually getting the link onto the phone — typing it, or emailing it to yourself and waiting. A QR code on the computer’s screen removes that step: the phone reads the link straight off the monitor.
The phone does not need to be signed in to anything, and it does not need to be yours. It works just as well for handing a file to the person sitting next to you.
Laptop to iPhone without iTunes
Apple’s routes onto an iPhone are a cable with Finder or the Apple Devices app, or AirDrop from a Mac. From a Windows laptop, none of them is quick for a single PDF. Scan the code and it is on the phone.
Where the files end up
- iPhone and iPad: Safari saves downloads to the Downloads folder in the Files app. From there, Share → Save Image puts a photo into your library.
- Android: downloads go to the Downloads folder, where the Files app, and most gallery apps, will find them.
FAQ
PC to phone — common questions
How do I transfer files from PC to Android without USB?
Open Just Save It on the PC, add the files and press Create drop, then scan the QR code on screen with the Android phone’s camera. The link opens in the phone’s browser and the files download from there.
How do I get files from Windows onto an iPhone?
The same way: create a drop on the Windows PC and scan its QR code with the iPhone’s Camera app. Safari opens the drop, and downloads land in the Files app. No iTunes, no iCloud and no cable.
Do I need a QR scanner app?
Almost certainly not. The iPhone Camera app and most Android camera apps read QR codes by themselves, and Google Lens covers the rest.
Can I send a whole folder?
Not as a folder. Select the files inside it — up to 25 at once, 25 MB each — or zip the folder first and send the ZIP.
