Transfer files from one laptop to another without a USB stick
Two laptops, two operating systems, no shared account: create a drop on one and type its code on the other. It works across the table or across the world.
Have a code already?
Limits — 25 MB per file · 100 MB per drop · 25 files
Step by step
How to transfer files between two laptops
- 01
Add the files on the first laptop
Drag them onto this page, or click Browse files.
- 02
Create the drop
Press Create drop. Note the short code, or copy the link.
- 03
Open it on the second laptop
Go to justsaveit.online and type the code, or open the link from wherever you pasted it.
- 04
Download
The files download at their original size. Delete the drop afterwards if you want it gone before it expires.
Windows to Mac, Mac to Windows, anything to a Chromebook
Nearby Sharing between two Windows PCs and AirDrop between two Macs each work well inside their own family, and neither crosses over. Setting up a shared network folder between Windows and macOS works too, but it is an afternoon, not a minute. A browser is the one thing every laptop already has in common.
Instead of a USB stick
Nobody can find one when it matters, the one they do find is full, and plenty of work laptops refuse to mount one by policy. A drop needs neither laptop to accept a device — just to open a web page.
Moving to a new laptop? Use something else
This is for a handful of files: up to 25 per drop, 25 MB each and 100 MB in total. Moving your whole life to a new machine is a job for the tools built for it — Migration Assistant on a Mac, Windows Backup on Windows 11, or an external drive.
FAQ
Laptop to laptop — common questions
How do I transfer files between two laptops wirelessly?
Open justsaveit.online on the first laptop, add the files and press Create drop. On the second laptop, open the same site, type the code and download. No cable, no stick and no network setup.
Do the laptops need to be on the same network?
No. Each one only needs to be online. They can be in the same room or on different continents.
Can I send a folder?
Zip it first and send the ZIP, or select the files inside it. Folders themselves are not uploaded as folders.
